This year we can take the future of New Mexico into our own hands! From ensuring the next generation of New Mexican children start their education on equal footing to recognizing that utility bills can put undue pressure on hardworking New Mexicans, the constitutional amendments this election is where you can make a difference.
What are the issues to vote on?
- Constitutional Amendment #1- VOTE YES!
This amendment would recognize that education begins at birth and ensure that every New Mexican child has an equal opportunity to education! It will allocate $125 million from the state’s $26 billion dollar Permanent Education Fund every year to the Early Childhood Education and Care Department for hiring more teachers at better pay and lowering parent/family co-pays; and $75 million to the Public Education Department for at risk-youth. - Constitutional Amendment #2- VOTE YES!
This amendment will help ensure that hardworking New Mexicans have access to the basic necessities that many struggle with. It asks to exempt basic infrastructure projects, like broadband, water, and electricity from the state’s current anti-donation clause.

¡Esta enmienda reconocería que la educación comienza al nacer y garantizaría que todos los niños de Nuevo México tengan la misma oportunidad de educación! Asignará $125 millones del Fondo de Educación Permanente de $26 mil millones de dólares del estado cada año al Departamento de Educación y Cuidado de la Primera Infancia para contratar a más maestros con mejores salarios y reducir los copagos entre padres y familias; y $75 millones al Departamento de Educación Pública para jóvenes en riesgo. - Enmienda Constitucional #2- ¡VOTA SÍ!
Esta enmienda ayudará a garantizar que los trabajadores de Nuevo México tengan acceso a las necesidades básicas con las que muchos luchan. Pide eximir los proyectos de infraestructura básica, como banda ancha, agua y electricidad de la actual cláusula antidonación del estado.
