OLÉ believes that housing is a human right. OLÉ members are organizing renters across the city of Albuquerque to hold landlords accountable to current laws, and we are working with city and state lawmakers to create better policies for safe and affordable housing for renters.
Some key legislation we are fighting for include:
- Adding cooling to the housing code (WON in December 2024 in City of Albuquerque!)
- Renters Bill of Rights
- Banning AI for rental pricing
- Capping application & background check fees
- Repealing the state ban on rent control
